aEdge is a set of shaders by the maker of aFraktal.
"All of the shaders in this set have loosely common theme: they all deal with edges in some way or another."

aFalloff
Varies colors based on the way the parts of the object face the camera. Modes include: Edge Start, Center Start, Falloff, Distort Amount, Distort Scale, Anti Aliasing, Color mode.

aRamp
aRamp is an Electric Image Shader for generating ramps. Some of you may be familiar with some of these controls from Alias PA or Maya. Rather than just limit this to simple linear ramps, anEdge has every kind of ramp we could think of. You can ramp a gradient of colors down the slope, in a radial pattern down the luminance of an underlying texture map. You can add noise in 3D space and noise to the Hue, Saturation or Lightness as well as a bunch of other things. Modes Include: Linear 1D, Bi-Linear 1D, Linear 2D, Linear 3D, Radial 2D, Radial 3D, Cross 2D, Cross 3D, Slope Local, Bi-Slope Local, Slope Global, Bi-Slope Global, Edge Falloff, Luminance. Way to many controls to list here.

aRIM
An automatic rimlight (sometime called a kicker). It's handy for outlining the edge of a model, simulating a light that is placed behind the object. The bonus is that this light always stays in the same position relative to the camera, so no matter how you orbit the object, it will always have a rimlight on the same place in the cameras view. I've found it really handy on darkly lit scenes where you want to still see the outline of an object. It looks really good on complex, curvy geometry. Modes Include: Rim Size, Falloff, Center Offset, Direction, Color, Intensity.

aSEM
aSEM was originally written for a project I was doing to simulate a Scanning Electron Microscope (an SEM). You can pull this off with light sources but my scene was huge so I needed a way to speed up the rendering and make the process easier to set up. Modes Include: SEM or xRay, Falloff, Gain, Color.

bFraktal
Fractal noise and bump generator. Modes include: Fractal Type, Detail, Distort, Scale, bump, Overflow, Clip, Soft Clip, Repeat, Fold, Clamp, Brightness, Contrast, Colors (including alpha), Apply mode, Anti-Aliasing.

aStorm
This one just slipped into the set – after much begging and prodding from the beta testers – and you all have the beta team to thank for that (well, Chris did write the shader afterall, but you get the point). Cloudy, swirly, shifting layers of color are a snap with aStorm, or use it to create a wide range of patterns. Just don’t forget to animate it at some point, just for the fun of watching it go.

aStorm is a shader that excels at doing nice, detailed, volumetric–looking, cloudy renderings and textues. While it’s not really volumetric, the level of depth that can be achieved with this shader is amazing.
